FBI released Child ID App for iPhone to help finding missing children
A very useful mobile application for iPhone was released by the FBI. It’s known as Child ID and will help parents with their most feared problem as a missing child. The new application allows people to store child’s photos or any identifying information, on their handsets. This way it becomes easier for the authorities to keep up with the necessary data, in case a child disappears.
Another useful tool included in FBI Child ID app is a possible 911 call or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which can be reached with the tap of a button. Thus, all details about the missing child will be instantly e-mailed to law enforcement officials. One problem is that some people feel uncomfortable keeping so much of personal information on a smartphone, but the Bureau assures that all the information will be kept safely and none of the data will be collected or shared without authorization.
At the moment, FBI’s Child ID is only an iPhone app, although the FBI promises soon to spread this useful tool to other mobile devices as well. For curious iOS users this application is already available for downloading at iTunes.
